The perfect start to your professional life

As a skilled worker for warehousing and logistics you work in many areas of the company. You play a key role from incoming goods through to the delivery of the goods by the dispatch area. All workstations are equipped with state-of-the-art IT solutions, which are an integral element of day-to-day work. In the area of logistics you find different types of warehousing and inventories. Various industrial trucks (e.g. forklifts, pallet trucks) are used for the transport and storage of the goods.

  • Start: September 2020
  • Duration of training: 3 years
  • Prerequisite: good school-leaving qualification; high school diploma/certificate
  • Later deployment location: in the warehouse / at outdoor storage locations, in the office

Training process

In your three-year training combined of vocational school and on-the-job training you move through the logistics departments - here are some examples:

  • Incoming goods: Here you learn how to check the acceptance of goods and their accompanying documents, enter goods using a warehouse management system, label goods and about their onward transport
  • Main and central warehouse: Storage of goods using state-of-the-art warehousing equipment, provision and order picking for production and dispatch
  • Dispatch: Packing picked goods ready for dispatch in accordance with statutory requirements, compiling load lists and loading goods
  • Internal transport: Transport and storage of goods using industrial trucks

During your training we offer you targeted internal preparation for the exams.

Assignments on special projects, independent work and a well-structured training programme make the training lots of fun every day

Requirements

  • Good physical fitness (e.g. changing between working in warehouses, air-conditioned offices or outdoors)
  • Organisational skills and due care and diligence (e.g. allocating loading and unloading times as well as storage areas, compiling deliveries properly for dispatch)
  • Spatial perception (e.g. storing goods in the warehouse taking into consideration the type of goods, quality, volume and weight)
  • Prudence and sense of responsibility (e.g. when operating conveyor systems or hoisting equipment, transporting and storing hazardous substances)
